I feel particularly privileged to have been involved in collating the Northland Book.
“It has been a pleasure to work with Murray Dunn, Phil Halse, Cameron Bell, Andrew Golightly and Cheryl Waaka. I feel privileged to create a book full of Northland rugby stories and history.
My Dad grew up in Kaitaia and told me the other day that Ted Thomson taught him at school before relocating to Hamilton in the late fifties. I also have fond memories of the 1994 North Auckland match, commemorating their name change to Northland in which I was invited to play in.
Northland was always a tough battle and always a good match, I played in 2Ranfurly Shield defences against Northland at Waikato’s Rugby Park, great hard games.
It is an honour to work on projects such as these.
